As he looked out of the porthole, Nonk sighed. He turned back into the cabin and looked at his companions slumped over their consoles. It had been two days now since the last one had died. He really needed to shuttle them from the craft before the smell overpowered.

He didn't know why the infection had not killed him....hell, he hadn't even caught it! But all his shipmates had succumbed one after the other, death following within hours.

He sighed again and wrapped his tentacles around the first human, dragging him to the cylinder ready to eject from the ship.

They must have been ill before they rescued him from his ailing craft, he thought. Such a shame. Although the first death had been very soon after he was pulled on board....

Setting a course for their home world he sat back, settling in for the journey.
